Record-Breaking Year for Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the organisers, distilleries, businesses and local communities involved in the success of the 2026 Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival; recognises the festival's record-breaking year, with more than £500,000 in ticket sales and over 600 events, attracting visitors from across the globe to Speyside and Moray; acknowledges the major contribution that the festival makes to Scotland's tourism and hospitality sectors, as well as the wider local economy; commends the festival for continuing to showcase Speyside as the spiritual home of Scotch whisky and celebrating the heritage, craftsmanship and culture of the region; congratulates the recipients of the 2026 Ambassador Awards, including David Craig, who received the Ambassador Award, Matthew Cordiner of Bacardi, who received the International Ambassador Award, Raymond Davidson and Angela McOwan, who received the Unsung Hero awards, and David Stewart of William Grant & Sons, who received the Spirit of Speyside Award; further congratulates the winners of the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Awards 2026, including Aberlour Distillery, Craigellachie Distillery and Tamdhu Distillery, with Tamdhu's 21 Year Old being named the festival's overall winner, and wishes the festival organisers continued success for future events.
