The motion

That the Parliament welcomes reports from Inclusion Scotland that five MSPs, who were first elected in May 2026, had accessed support through the Access to Elected Office Fund (AEOF); understands that these are the first MSPs elected with support from the fund; recognises what it sees as the importance of the AEOF, a Scottish Government-funded programme delivered and administered by Inclusion Scotland, to remove barriers that disabled people can face when standing for elected office; understands that the AEOF covers additional disability-related costs associated with campaigning, including reasonable adjustments and support that enables candidates to participate on a more equal basis, and commends the work of Inclusion Scotland in supporting candidates from a range of political parties and independent backgrounds, which it believes is enabling people with lived experience of disability to participate fully in democratic processes and contribute as equal partners to decision making in Scotland.
