Welcomes Eliya Cohen and Ziv Abud to Scotland

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes Eliya Cohen and Ziv Abud to Scotland for the event, Two Lives, One Journey, which will be held in Glasgow on 3 June 2026; understands that Eliya spent 505 days as a hostage in Gaza and Ziv survived the Nova Music Festival massacre; recognises the devastating human impact of the terrorist attacks, which took place in Israel on 7 October 2023; condemns terrorism, hostage-taking and antisemitism in all their forms; praises the bravery and resilience shown by those who survived the atrocities at the Nova Music Festival and by families who campaigned tirelessly for the return of hostages; believes that Scotland should stand firmly with victims of terror and defend the values of freedom, democracy and security; commends the work of Magen David Adom (MDA) UK in bringing first-hand testimony from Israeli paramedics to Scotland, and notes the importance of ensuring that Jewish communities across Scotland feel safe, respected and supported.
