Recognising Innovative Crime Prevention Messaging by Police Scotland Argyll and West Dunbartonshire
The motion
That the Parliament commends Police Scotland Argyll and West Dunbartonshire for what it sees as its creative and engaging public safety campaign encouraging residents to protect their homes, vehicles and property during the recent spell of warm weather; notes that the social media message humorously referenced the appearance of a rare "bright orb in the sky" and the declaration of a national state of "Taps Aff", while delivering serious and practical crime prevention advice; recognises the importance of innovative communication methods in reaching wider audiences and encouraging public engagement with community safety messages; notes the advice provided regarding securing homes, safeguarding keys, locking vehicles and protecting valuable equipment; believes that effective policing is supported by strong public awareness and partnership working with communities, and wishes Police Scotland continued success in promoting crime prevention and public safety across Argyll and West Dunbartonshire.
