Springfield Partnerships Awarded Large Affordable Development of the Year at the Homes for Scotland Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Springfield Partnerships, part of The Springfield Group, on receiving the Large Affordable Development of the Year title for the transformation of Deans South in Livingston at the Homes for Scotland Awards; understands that the homes at Deans South were impacted by Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) and had been abandoned; further understands that whilst most residents had been relocated, nine families who owned their homes, were trapped living in condemned properties for over 20 years; acknowledges that due to a multiple partnership, including Springfield and The Wheatley Group along with extensive support and engagement with former Dean’s residents throughout construction, this area, which some saw as being ‘forgotten’, is a thriving development with 88 of the 136 homes already occupied and work underway on the third and final phase of the site; understands that the transformation of this abandoned estate has now been recognised by industry experts, who then awarded the site the Homes for Scotland’s Large Affordable Development of the Year, and commends everyone involved on their sterling endeavours in this regard.
