Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill
Lord Hunt of Kings Heath moved amendment 8, in clause 63, page 41, line 29, to leave out subsection (2) and insert: “( ) The panel may only appoint a person under subsection (1) if that person is: (a) a member of that police and crime panel; and (b) a member of the relevant local authority. ( ) In appointing an acting police and crime commissioner under subsection (1), the relevant police and crime panel must stipulate the maximum length of time that the person may hold that position.” The House divided:

The party breakdowns are our own analysis of the official voting records (recorded votes only; they do not describe the formal whip). How we work this out.
Peers attend divisions ad hoc, so there is no did-not-vote list. Tellers are counted in the Content and Not Content totals, unlike in the Commons.
Tellers: Lord Bassam of Brighton (Content), Lord Tunnicliffe (Content), Baroness Anelay of St Johns (Not Content), Lord Shutt of Greetland (Not Content).
