I welcome the 20% reduction in recorded wildlife crime offences, and thank Police Scotland and the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service for their considerable efforts in recent years to improve the enforcement of wildlife crime legislation and the availability of relevant data.
There is no room for complacency though. Some of our native species continue to be under serious threat from wildlife crime and the Scottish Government will work closely with law enforcement bodies and other partners to bring about a long term reduction in these types of offence.

The Scottish Government provides funding to support those people infected with hepatitis C via NHS blood and blood products in Scotland. We have provided £32 million in total since 2004.
Following the publication of the Penrose Inquiry report on 25 March 2015 we are now reviewing the financial support arrangements for those infected as a matter of priority, working with a group of infected people and their family members to do so.
We expect to make a decision on the future of the schemes in early 2016.
