Pass emergency legislation forcing supermarkets to prevent stockpiling

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Government must intervene immediately to prevent the panic buying of groceries as a matter of public safety
The elderly, vulnerable and front line workers can't access essential food items - supermarkets have been given the chance to police themselves and this has failed.

Lack of government intervention means people are having to expose themselves to repeated close contact in numerous shops trying to track down essentials.

There is reportedly no shortage in supply, just in people being allowed to strip shelves, this must be stopped before it causes a shortage in supply
