The motion

That the Parliament congratulates all those who fought a brilliant campaign to save Ardroy, Fife’s Outdoor Education Centre; regrets that, despite over 8,000 people signing online petitions and over 700 people emailing policymakers in Fife, Fife Council withdrew crucial funding for the centre; welcomes news that the council has now agreed in principle to lease the centre to a new group who will run Ardroy as a registered charity and social enterprise; celebrates the launch of the Ardroy Ambassadors group and website through which support for keeping the centre open can be coordinated; wishes the group every success in its plan to reopen the centre by Christmas 2011, and considers that this is an excellent outdoor education facility that is important not only for children and adults in Fife but across Scotland.
