Dish up Better Grub
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the publication by NHS Lanarkshire of results from the 2011 Inpatient Patient Experience Survey; acknowledges the performance of Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride in the survey; notes that only 40% of patients responded positively to food and drink served in Hairmyres Hospital, which is down 2% on the previous survey and 27% less than the Scottish average; recognises public concern about the standard of food and drink in Hairmyres Hospital as expressed in the Dish Up Better Grub petition that was published by the East Kilbride News; understands that NHS Lanarkshire is aware of public concerns and has committed to addressing the problem; considers the standard of food and drink in hospitals to be integral to the patient experience; believes that the standard of food and drink in Hairmyres Hospital could be improved through increased capacity and the adoption of best practice, and calls on the Scottish Government and NHS Lanarkshire to respond to the Dish Up Better Grub campaign.
