The Coalfields Regeneration Trust’s Midnight League Finals 2011
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates the Coalfields Regeneration Trust’s Midnight League Finals, sponsored by Thompson’s Solicitors, on Sunday 18 September 2011 in the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie; considers this an exciting tournament and congratulates the more than 200 young people who will be taking part; applauds the work that this national five-a-side community football initiative does to keep young people aged between 12 and 16 off the streets by providing free organised football in the evenings; recognises the contribution that this makes to reducing crime levels and cutting antisocial behaviour; thanks the initiative's main sponsors, the Bank of Scotland and the Cashback for Communities Programme; welcomes support from the Scottish Football Association, local authorities and police, and wishes all participating youngsters the very best for this exciting event.
