The motion

That the Parliament notes with alarm the allegations made on 20 September 2000 on Good Morning Scotland that British American Tobacco marketing teams have been targeting children in Africa by offering them free cigarettes, and calls upon the Scottish Executive to press the relevant departments of Her Majesty’s Government to bring pressure to bear on tobacco companies to cease this abhorrent practice and to support the move towards international regulation of tobacco marketing.
