Motion · S1M-01657 · 13 Feb 2001
Closure of Veterinary Investigation Centre, Thurso
The motion
That the Parliament notes with regret the decision of the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) to close the Veterinary Investigation Centre at Thurso; acknowledges that one third of the Highlands and Islands beef cattle are kept within the Thurso laboratory’s area; recognises the invaluable service provided by the Centre to vets and farmers in one of the most remote yet most densely stocked areas, and calls upon the SAC to work with all interested parties to secure the future of the Centre.
