75th Anniversary of The General Strike
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the 75th Anniversary of The General Strike; applauds the role played by rank and file trade unionists and working people during the 9 days of the strike; recognises that the Councils of Action set up across the country demonstrated that working men and women can directly run their own affairs and the affairs of the state they live in, and recognises this anniversary by paying tribute to the role of trade unionism in Scotland’s past and acknowledge its importance in the future.
