Traffic and Travel Information in South-West Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates West FM, West Sound and South West Sound FM for initiating a specific traffic and travel information service for motorists driving on urban and rural routes in Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway; recognises that two travel and traffic executives have been employed by the radio stations to provide “real time” travel information to motorists in south-west Scotland, and calls on the Scottish Executive and its trunk road operator, Amey Highways, to erect along trunk roads in Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway signposts that inform drivers of the radio frequency on which they can receive these “real time” traffic and travel updates.
