Congratulations to West Lothian Council
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates West Lothian Council on the award of the title “UK Council of the Year” by the Local Government Chronicle; notes that West Lothian Council is the first Scottish council to win this prestigious award, and recognises that this has been achieved as a result of sustained excellence in service delivery, through the commitment of the staff of the council and the highly effective political leadership, and that this award follows on from the Accounts Commission report last year which praised the council’s good practices and strong commitment to improvement.
