DC Thomson Takeover of Aberdeen Journals
The motion
That the Parliament notes the takeover by DC Thomson of Aberdeen Journals, publisher of the Press & Journal and the Evening Express; welcomes this development as securing Scottish ownership of Scottish-based newspapers; congratulates DC Thomson on avoiding any major staffing cuts, despite recent drastic cuts in staffing levels at other national and regional newspapers; urges DC Thomson to take all measures possible to secure current levels of employment, and wishes the company and its staff a very prosperous future.
