Welcome for the Merger of Bell College in Hamilton and the University of Paisley
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the merger of Bell College in Hamilton and the University of Paisley; congratulates all the people involved in the merger for their efforts; notes that as a result of the merger Lanarkshire now has a university presence that will further benefit the west of Scotland, and recognises that this new institution will offer higher education opportunities to people from all backgrounds and will be locally accessible to 40% of the population.
