UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, 26 June 2009
The motion
That the Parliament believes that victims of torture resident in the United Kingdom require care and support, including all necessary medical services, and urges the UK Government to reaffirm its commitment to this belief and to the UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment on the 20th anniversary of the signing of the convention, 26 June 2009, which has been designated as UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture.
