Pedestrian Crossing for A76 at Mauchline
The motion
That the Parliament notes the concerns of local residents of the National Burns Memorial Homes and the Jean Armour Homes in Mauchline who wish to see a pedestrian crossing installed on the A76 to allow safe access to a pavement leading into the village centre; acknowledges that this wish is supported by the Mauchline Community Council, local councillors and Des Browne MP; understands that major resurfacing work is due to take place on the A76 in the summer of 2010; believes that this would be the ideal opportunity to install the crossing, and calls on the Scottish Government to ensure that Transport Scotland takes account of community opinion on this matter.
