New Investment in Dalzell Steel Works, Motherwell
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement by Corus of an £8 million investment in new and upgraded plant and machinery in the Dalzell Steel Works in Motherwell, its largest investment in the industry locally for 40 years; notes the immediate increase in jobs that will come to Clydebridge Steel Works and to Dalzell and the hope that more will follow when the new investment is complete; recognises the proud history of steel making in Lanarkshire, and believes that this investment will be welcomed by all those who have worked in the industry during their lives and by those who hope to in the future.
