Hope for New Zealand Miners
The motion
That the Parliament notes with deep concern that 29 miners are still unaccounted for after the explosion at the Pike River Mine near Greymouth on South Island, New Zealand; commends and encourages all the efforts being made by the mine authorities and the New Zealand Government to bring the men to safety; offers support and encouragement to all the relatives of those involved and in particular to those of the two Scottish miners, Malcolm Campbell of St Andrews and Peter Roger of Perth, and joins with all family members and friends in wishing for a speedy and successful resolution to what it considers to be this appalling accident.
