Fife's Monster Bike and Hike Challenge for Maggie's
The motion
That the Parliament supports Maggie’s Monster Bike and Hike, a 24-hour fundraising team challenge from Fort William to Inverness in aid of Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres taking place between 30 April and 1 May 2011; notes that the challenge, covering 73 miles along the Great Glen Way, is in its eighth year and will coincide this year with the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Maggie’s Centre in Kirkcaldy; understands that the Monster Bike and Hike raised over £600,000 for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres in 2010 and that the event is an important yearly fundraising activity for the charity; notes that fundraisers are aiming to sign up 55 volunteers for Maggie’s Fife, and encourages as many people as possible across the Kirkcaldy constituency and Scotland to take part and support their local Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre.
