Broxburn Academy Wins Construction and Built Environment Challenge
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Broxburn Academy on winning the 2011 Construction and Built Environment Challenge (CABEC); notes that a team of 10 pupils aged 13-14 won after completing a series of challenges including assembling a garden shed, tiling a replica roof and solving plumbing and electrical challenges; applauds the efforts of the 230 other pupils in Edinburgh and the Lothians who took part in the regional heats and acknowledges the sponsorship by the Scottish Government and support for the event from ConstructionSkills, SummitSkills, Capital Skills, Building Engineering Services Training, the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust, Edinburgh’s Telford College, Edinburgh Napier University, Oatridge College, Heriot-Watt University and West Lothian College, and considers that CABEC, now in its 11th year, has become a major event in the Edinburgh and the Lothians schools calendar.
