Hamilton College Thinking of Others at Christmas
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Hamilton College on its support of the Hamilton District Foodbank as part of its Christmas Charity Project; understands that the school invited pupils to bring in food donations between 18 and 28 November 2013; considers this altruistic gesture as becoming of a Christian school during the festive period; commends Sainsbury's in Hamilton for providing shopping trollies for the venture; considers that the Hamilton District Foodbank undertakes valuable work to help those most in need in Hamilton and Blantyre; expresses gratitude and admiration for the hard work carried out by volunteers; understands that the project is a joint venture between St Andrew’s Parish Church Blantyre, High Blantyre Baptist Church, Hillhouse Parish Church and Hamilton Baptist Church in conjunction with the Trussell Trust; considers it saddening that so many in Scotland's communities are reliant on foodbanks, and wishes Hamilton College and Hamilton District Foodbank every success in the future.
