300 New Jobs Announced by Tesco Bank for Current Account Launch
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement by Tesco Bank that it is to create 300 new jobs in Scotland as part of preparations to launch a current account service in 2014; understands that 150 of these jobs will be based at the South Gyle Tesco Bank EHQ, including up to 60 jobs in the highly skilled head office functions of marketing and legal services; considers that this announcement is a welcome boost to the economy of Edinburgh that underlines the quality and skills of the local workforce, and believes that this announcement shows that Edinburgh and Scotland provide excellent opportunities for investment in job creation and business expansion.
