The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges the 200th anniversary of the death of the Angus resident, George Don; understands that he was a pioneer in botany, particularly that of Scotland; notes his contributions to science, which included a publication that listed the birds and plants native to Scotland and Herbarium Brittanicum, which, it understands has proved invaluable to both the botanic and scientific community, and commends the former Forfar Town Council, which erected a memorial plaque, courtesy of the Forfar Historical Society, in his honour and named Don Street after him.
