First Primary Teachers Graduate from UHI

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the 18 students who have graduated from the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) with a professional graduate diploma in primary education (PGDE); understands that these 18 are the first cohort to complete the diploma at UHI; notes that students fluent in Gaelic also have the option to complete the diploma through the medium of Gaelic, enabling them to work in a Gaelic-medium primary school; considers their graduation to be another milestone in the progress of UHI; welcomes the ability for potential teachers across the Highlands and Islands to study for their PGDE in their local area, and hopes to see the course, which is being delivered at UHI campuses in Inverness, Elgin, Kirkwall and Stornoway, go from strength to strength in the years to come.
