Best Wishes to Dumfries and Galloway’s Scottish Thistle Nominees
The motion
That the Parliament notes the following nominations of tourism businesses and events in Dumfries and Galloway as finalists in the Central South West region in Visit Scotland’s Scottish Thistle Awards, Kerr Cottage Guest House, Dalbeattie, as Most Hospitable B&B/Guest House, Solway View Holidays, Kirkcudbright, for Best Holiday Accommodation, Hetland Garden Centre, Dumfries, for Best Informal Eating Experience, The Wigtown Book Town Festival and the Wickerman Festival both nominated for Best Event or Festival and the Galloway Activity Centre, Castle Douglas, for Best Outdoor/Adventure Experience and Best Visitor Attraction; congratulates all of the regional finalists on their success in reaching this stage; considers that the strong showing of businesses and events from Dumfries and Galloway is a clear indication of the breadth and quality of the tourist experience on offer in Dumfries and Galloway, and wishes all of the nominees well for the finals.
