An NHS Fit for Fife

Lodged by Jayne Baxter Standard Motion 10 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament notes with concern growing reports of problems with Fife's health services such as bed shortages, understaffing and longer waiting times, including an increase in waiting times for some types of cancer treatment; considers it unacceptable that this results in unsatisfactory experiences for patients, as well as increased stress for hard-pressed NHS staff; believes that an independent review is needed to identify the true picture of health needs of people across Fife and to set out a clear plan and timetable to deliver an NHS fit for Fife, and calls on the Scottish Government to establish such an inquiry without further delay.
