Glasgow Businesses Achieve Success in Scottish Thistle Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the regional finalists from Glasgow on their success in the south-west regional Scottish Thistle Awards; notes that the Best Informal Dining Experience was awarded to House for an Art Lover and that the Best Restaurant Experience was awarded to Cail Bruich; further notes that the Friendliest Pub/Bar was awarded to the Station Bar and the Glasgow Film Festival received the Best Event or Festival Award; understands that McKinlay Kidd won the Warmest Welcome Award; congratulates Julie Fellows Smith on winning the Young Ambassador Award; further understands that the Scottish Thistle Awards is led by a panel of industry experts from several organisations including VisitScotland, the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland, Scottish Tourism Alliance, Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards and the Scottish Licensed Trade Association; notes that, in 2014, 670 businesses were nominated, with 555 businesses entered in the regional heats, and wishes the Glasgow finalists the best of luck for the finals in March 2015.
