Glencairn Crystal
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the growth and success of Glencairn Crystal in East Kilbride; understands that Glencairn Crystal is a leader in the crystal glassware industry; recognises the company’s association with the Scottish whisky industry, particularly the success of the bespoke Glencairn glass for whisky; understands that Glencairn Crystal is to invest £1 million in expanding and refitting its factory, replacing equipment and creating 19 new jobs over the next three years; further understands that Glencairn Crystal is growing internationally, having recently appointed a US representative of the company in the American market, and wishes the company every success in exporting to growing markets around the world.
