The motion

That the Parliament notes that this week marks the 70th anniversary of the 1945 bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; understands that the Aberdeen and District Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) will be putting on its annual Hiroshima memorial on 6 August 2015, lighting 200 lanterns down the River Dee in Aberdeen, to commemorate the bombing of the two Japanese cities in 1945, which killed 200,000 men, women and children; considers the annual memorial a fitting commemoration of the victims and a vital reminder of the dangers of weapons of mass destruction, and thanks Jonathan Russell, Chair of Aberdeen and District CND, and everyone involved with the event.
