Gordonstoun School Wins Moray Chamber of Commerce Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Gordonstoun school on being awarded the 2015 Moray Chamber of Commerce Main Business Award for outstanding contribution to the Moray economy; notes that this award is given to a Moray business that has made a significant impact to the Moray economy; understands that the school currently employs over 300 staff in a variety of roles, with the vast majority living in Moray and contributing to the local area; considers the school’s contribution to the wider Moray community to be more than just economic through its role with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the local coastguard as well as Gordonstoun’s community and conservation services; believes that the school uses a wide range of local suppliers and that the impact of £8 million of wages being spent in the local economy is significant, and wishes the principal, Simon Reid, and all of the pupils and staff continued success for the future.
