Congratulations to Aberlour's Family Outreach Project
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the award of £59,936 over one year to the Aberlour for the Family Outreach Project by the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland, through the Partnership Drugs Initiative (PDI); understands that this will support 24 families in which there are children who are affected by parental substance misuse; notes that the PDI, which was set up in 2001 and is funded by the foundation, the Scottish Government and the Robertson Trust, aims to increase the wellbeing of children and young people affected by alcohol and other drugs; believes that, for every £1 allocated by the Scottish Government to the PDI, both the foundation and the trust add £1.46 more, with other local matched-funding establishing a total pot of £4.92; notes that the project is supported by the Dumfries and Galloway Alcohol and Drug Partnership; understands that the outcomes it hopes to achieve include improving family routines and ensuring that children are kept safe, and considers that this type of partnership approach to funding and service provision makes a real difference to vulnerable children and young people’s lives.
