The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the national awareness campaign, National Stress Awareness Day, which will take place on 4 November 2015; recognises that the theme for 2015 is "employee wellbeing as a worthwhile investment in your business”; notes that stress can manifest as a physical, psychological or social dysfunction resulting in individuals feeling unable to bridge the gap with the requirements or expectations placed on them; understands that stress has been proven to have adverse health effects and accounted for 400,000 of the 1,152,000 work-related illnesses in 2010-11, according to the International Stress Management Association; encourages MSPs to consult the National Stress Awareness Day website, which includes guidelines for ways to reduce stress, and commends the International Stress Management Association for organising the day to spread awareness about the issue of stress.
