Andy Scott Honoured by Glasgow Caledonian University
The motion
That the Parliament notes the award by Glasgow Caledonian University of a Doctor of Letters degree to the Maryhill-based sculptor, Andy Scott; considers that Mr Scott has made an important contribution to art in Scotland and internationally; notes that his work is to be found in Queensland and Victoria in Australia, Belfast, Leeds, London and throughout Scotland; considers the award of this honorary degree to be a fitting accolade for the creator of some of Scotland’s finest public art, most notably the world-renowned Kelpies in Falkirk, and congratulates Andy Scott on his many achievements.
