Glasgow Airport's Record Increase in Passenger Numbers
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates everyone at Glasgow Airport on what it understands is its largest ever increase in annual passenger numbers; notes that more than 8.7 million passengers were reported to have used the airport in 2015, which represents an annual increase of 13%, or over one million people; praises the airport on, it understands, being classified as one of the fastest growing by the trade body, ACI Europe; believes that more than 569,000 passengers used it in December 2015, making it its busiest December ever; understands that the 30 new routes and services announced in 2015 significantly strengthened its connections to major European cities and cemented its position as Scotland’s principal long-haul airport; notes that 2016 marks its 50th anniversary; recognises what it sees as the hard work of everyone who is contributing to its success, and wishes them all the best in their endeavours.
