Lightburn Hospital
The motion
That the Parliament is concerned that Lightburn Hospital in the east end of Glasgow has been earmarked for closure in the NHS board paper, Service and Financial Planning for 2016/17 and beyond; considers that the closure of hospital would be devastating for many people in the east end of Glasgow who are unable to travel to hospitals in other parts of the city due to ill health and affordability; believes that local rehabilitation healthcare facilities are important in ensuring a more effective recovery; recognises the health challenges facing communities in the east end of Glasgow, and considers that closure would have a disastrous impact on the battle to improve health and wellbeing.
