Glasgow Tops UK Economic Recovery List
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow on topping a list of UK cities for its economic recovery; understands that figures show that the city is worth £19.3 billion in the wake of the recession; believes that the value of goods and services is up 7% and that the average weekly wage in the city is now the third highest in the UK at £449.10; understands that the proportion of young people not in education, employment or training has fallen from 2,680 to 2,270, and considers that, although this is a positive outcome, there are still aspects of Glasgow’s economy that can be improved.
