Sadness at the Death of Duncan McSporran
The motion
That the Parliament notes with sadness the passing of the former Scotland Director of the Engineering Development Trust (EDT), Duncan McSporran; notes what it sees as Duncan's work in founding the EDT in Scotland, developing its education and business partnerships and positioning it as the country's leading provider of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education; acknowledges that he helped develop local authority partnerships with universities, colleges and over 200 business; recognises his legacy in the development of STEM education for 11 to 21-year-olds, and is grateful for his legacy, which, it believes, will continue to be of benefit to over 10,000 young Scots each year.
