The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Ryboquin Ltd in Selkirk on developing a new cancer gene therapy drug called Ryboquin ECP-102; understands that, in order to bring the product to clinical trials, the firm has raised £800,000 from investors and nearly £500,000 in a Scottish Enterprise research grant; notes that researchers believe that the product could enable traditional chemotherapy to be up to four times as effective in some people and reduce some of the side effects of this treatment in some others; commends Ryboquin for its innovation and contribution to the fight against cancer; notes the huge impact that this product may have on the lives of people with cancer and their families by improving treatment and reducing side effects, and wishes Ryboquin and other Scottish companies every success in developing drugs and other treatments to tackle cancer.
