Scottish Samurai Awards 2016
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the recipients of the 2016 Scottish Samurai Awards; notes that these prestigious awards were first instigated in 1994 and consist of several levels of award that celebrate the achievements of those who serve and excel in their respective fields; further notes that the awarding body is led by the Aberdeen-based international Karate Master, Mr Ronnie Watt OBE, and that, each year, previous award winners nominate candidates to be chosen by the Award Committee; notes that this year’s winners include Dame Anne Glover, the Consul General of Japan, Daisuke Matsunaga, and Lord Bruce among others, and wishes the Scottish Samurai Awards and the winners the very best for the future.
