Aberdeen's Japan Day Celebrations

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that the annual Japan Day will be held at Cults Academy, Aberdeen, on 11 June 2017; notes that the event will be the 13th of its kind to be held in Aberdeen; understands that it celebrates the north east's historic links with Japan; further understands that 2016's event broke records, attracting more than 1,000 visitors and raising over £900 for local charities; welcomes the opportunity presented by the event for people to embrace Japanese culture through opportunities for visitors to enjoy a plurality of Japanese activities, including calligraphy, origami and martial arts demonstrations, and wishes the Japan Day Aberdeen Organisation all the best for a successful event.
