Redevelopment of Strathclyde Police Headquarters
The motion
That the Parliament notes the imminent demolition of the former Strathclyde Police Headquarters in Glasgow city centre and the subsequent redevelopment of the site; recognises that the build-to-rent Moda Development, called Holland Park, and other planned projects in the vicinity, will help to boost Glasgow city centre’s population, bringing it closer to that of European cities of a similar size; welcomes the ambition to increase the population of the city centre to 40,000 by 2032, and hopes that, by creating diverse new and desirable dwellings in the heart of Scotland’s largest city, these projects are just the start of a renaissance for Glasgow city centre that will help to boost population growth and the local economy.
