The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Forth Valley Disability Sport (FVDS) on its award of £4,000 from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust to help fund the Next Step project; understands that the project aims to ease young people's transition from full-time care; acknowledges that previous research by the group has shown that individuals leaving school or college can experience significant anxiety at the loss of support mechanisms, potentially leading to reduced confidence and isolation; believes that the Next Step project will offer the chance for school, college and day care centre leavers to engage in sports and physical activities, meet new friends and develop new skills; notes that the project is designed to help reduce the isolation experienced by individuals and their families and carers at what can be a difficult transition period; acknowledges that the project will offer a range of sports and outdoor activities to 16 to 18-year-olds from across Alloa, and commends FVDS and the Coalfields Regeneration Trust for what it considers their sterling work.
