Laura Muir Sets New British Record
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish athlete, Laura Muir, on setting a new British record for the women’s indoor mile of 4:18:75, breaking the previous record set 31 years ago by Kirsty Wade; understands that the new record is the third fastest indoor time ever recorded over this distance, and that Laura completed the first 1500m in 4.01.83, which is faster than her own British indoor record of 4:02.39; notes that, following this success, Laura is aiming to defend her 1500m and 3000m European indoor titles in Glasgow from 1 to 3 March 2019; applauds Laura for her efforts, and wishes her continued success.
