Over £31,000 Awarded to Borders Cancer Patients
The motion
That the Parliament commends Macmillan Cancer Support on awarding grants totalling over £31,000 to Borders residents with cancer; understands that, in 2018, over £14,000 was awarded to cover heating costs and over £13,000 was awarded for clothing and travel costs; believes that the average cost of living with cancer in Scotland is £420 per month, and thanks Macmillan Cancer Support for helping Borderers with cancer who experience financial hardship as a result of the illness.
