The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Archdiocese of Glasgow and Mosaic Architecture + Design on securing a £93,400 Heritage Lottery Fund grant for urgent masonry work and external fabric repairs to the iconic bell tower at St Aloysius’ Church, Glasgow, which is also known as the Campanile; notes that the grant will be added to £140,000 of funding from Historic Environment Scotland, which will enable Mosaic to engage a contractor to start work on the £400,000 project in April 2019, with it scheduled for completion in six months; acknowledges that St Aloysius’ Church is a city centre Jesuit Catholic Church serving Catholic worshippers in Glasgow, the west of Scotland and beyond, and congratulates all those involved with the successful submission, which means that the building can now be made water-tight and the church tower maintained as an important heritage landmark on the skyline of central Glasgow.
