Award for Local Over-50s Swimming Club
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Isobel Marshall, Effie McGachie and Meg Maine of the Renfrew Over 50s Swimming Club committee, on their receipt of the Age Scotland 2019 Inspiration Award at the Age Scotland National Conference and Awards Ceremony on 20 March 2019; notes that this award is made to a group whose work has proven inspirational in its support for older people; understands that the club was founded three decades ago and has over 100 members; recognises the important role of exercise and socialising in living a healthy, happy later life and in tackling loneliness and isolation, and sends the club its best wishes for another successful 30 years.
